  • Fundraising: Worked with FREE (Freeing, Rescuing, Educating and Empowering) formerly called "Free the children/Free the slaves", a Vanderbilt student organization to raise funds for SOUP (Society of Underprivileged People) India. SOUP is a non-governmental organization in Allahabad, India that works to rescue, give shelter and food and opportunities to children and women stuck in drug and human trafficking. We raised $4200 for SOUP of which I led the efforts to raise $3500 (Sriram Dixit and Anupama Balasubramanian provided great help in this effort). This fundraising was eventually covered in an article by The Vanderbilt Hustler, the most popular newspaper on campus, Jan' 12, 2007.
