Acknowledgments

~ Respect ~

I would like to gratefully acknowledge the assistance of the many persons and places that have contributed to this project.

First, there are the libraries and archives, tended by their loving librarians and curators, without which and whom there would be little available printed material to draw upon to bring this unusual slice of American history to light. File on, ye keepers of the past!

Second, is Dr. Viola W. Bernard, a prominent New York City psychiatrist. She has been most gracious and generous with correspondence, suggestions and "information". (Note: Dr. Bernard died peacefully in her sleep on March 21, 1998. She will be greatly missed).

Third, I would like to heartily thank my collaborator, Ms. Longwood,

 and last, but not least...the

"Loving Guru of the Tantriks: Oom the Omnipotent!"
