Introducing
The
Fingerboard!
Teaching and Performing: I
have been doing both since the early 1970's and it is my passion. My philosophy
is to always keep an open mind about music, continually searching for better ways
to make and teach it. I have always been interested in inventing devices that
help string players better learn and improve technique.
I invented The Practice Bow in
1993. Now I have a new device to isolate and practice motions in the left hand,
called The Fingerboard. It can be carried in a purse or small backpack or even
in a coat pocket! I designed it when I was making radical left hand position
changes and wanted to practice and reinforce the changes every opportunity I
had. I came up with the idea of an easily accessible device that could be held
while I read books, watched television, talked on the phone, watched my kids at
the park, flew on airplanes, etc. With it, I easily added hours of practice a
day without taking away from learning new music and rehearsing. Whether making
big or little changes or simple maintaining muscle tone and fingertip calluses,
The Fingerboard is so easy to use, you'll find your athleticism and flexibility
on the fingerboard greatly improves and the practice does not take away from
your designated practice routine.
The Fingerboard is available
for $75.00,
I hope to make this product
available in various sizes, but presently I only have full size violin Fingerboards
available.
