Internet Football League Tempe Trip October 8-11
Our third annual trip was a good one - a visit to the Valley
of the Sun to see a historic gridiron clash between the mighty New York
Giants and the fearsome Arizona Cardinals. Oh well, the weather was nice,
anyway.
Starting off the weekend right at Joe's
Crab Shack with Dave Larson and Jon Coxe, aka the the Cellphone Kid.
On Saturday I went to see some old friends from high school - former star
athletes Gary and Michelle.
I think Jon invited us to cheer for the little league team he coaches (his
son is the quarterback - surprise,
surprise.) Doug
was there to see if the Jellyfish, er, Maulers had covered the spread. The
Tricon crew finished up golfing in just enough time to get cleaned up for
the killer view and red meat
combo at Rustler's Rooste.
The travel crew was
joined at the game by our host IFL member
Jonny C and ex-Hawk Dougie G. The
game wasn't
particularly exciting,
but 1000
high school cheerleaders on the field was pretty impressive.
Once again, many thanks to Jon for hooking us up with the fine accomodations
just a short walk from the stadium,
literally in the shadow of A Mountain
- the Tempe Mission Palms.
Drank a little beer, shot a little stick, watched a little
ball - not a bad weekend at all. Still, it's always good to get home
(that's my house at the top of the T.) See ya next year.
