Sneak Peek at the Belcourt
November 13th
In what turned out to be the last fundraising/awareness
event before the lease was signed, the Belcourt
Cinema opened its doors for a night of live performances.
Starting off the night were comedy troupe One Hand Clapping,
one of whose members is seen here chatting
up our volunteer maven Mary Reaves.
Our first band was Mojo
Vision, blues masters outta the heart of Arkansas.
Next on the bill was Last
of the Dearhearts, giving the Evinrudes'Brian
Reed and Sherry Cothran a
chance to work as a duo. And yes, they did play "Drive Me Home."
Closing out the night in fine style, Atticus
Fault cranked up the volume - hope our insurance covers shock waves!
Not all the action was on stage - our fine crew of volunteers
kept the beer and pizza moving in the lobby, where you might have even
seen Willy Wonka's love child if you stuck
around long enough!
Not bad for 99 cents,
eh?
