...where I spent many childhood hours listening to the greatest musicians of
the 20th century. An autograph hound, I went backstage to meet Arthur Rubinstein,
Vladimir Horowitz, Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin, E. Power Biggs and Andrés Segovia
as well as composers such as Aaron Copland and Igor Stravinksy.

I also studied for a time in the Eastman Piano Preparatory Department, and played
my first pipe organ in one of the Eastman School's practice rooms.
