The Baptistry at Sbeitla in Tunisia
The baptistry was in a separate room behind the apse of the
basilica.
Note that it is constructed in shape which suggest the
womb, perhaps
to suggest that baptism is a rebirth. The bases for the
four columns which
supported the ciborium over the font are evident.
The back wall of the apse
of the basilica is evident at the top of the image.
The back wall of the
baptistry itself is evident in the lower right hand corner.
