Beethoven lived pretty well, but Schubert courted poverty

Beethoven lived pretty well. Holidays in the suburbs had that rustic, spacious feel.

Schubert lived rather differently, not being able to afford the center of town, nor the luxury of the holiday suburbs. Even his family lived on a busy street with tall, light-impeding buildings. Of course, they had horses (and manure) instead of cars to annoy them.
