Chochom’ 2005
Summer School in Chenalhó,
Mexico.
During
the summer of 2005 our research team conducted a summer school for Tzotzil Maya and Spanish speaking Ladino
children in the community of Chenalhó, Chiapas. The summer school provided an educational
/ recreational space for children, while at the same time allowing us to
conduct research with children of all ages (4-14).
This summer school was a
close collaboration with the whole community.
The school took place in
the “CASA DE CULTURA” a community owned building that serves multiple purposes,
including meetings and special events.
